Final Exam

1. Complete
2. Complete
3. Complete
4. This picture is my transformative picture because it taught me a whole new way of taking pictures. After taking this picture, I realized that focusing on different sites like in this picture taught me a new style of photography. Overall, taking pictures of nature has a special place in my heart because it gets me thinking of life and how I can improve my own life. I love this picture.

5. Shape is a 2D element basic to picture composition and is usually the first means by which a viewer identifies an object within the picture while form refers to when shape takes on three dimensions. Form is created by shadows and highlights on an object in the photograph.

6. Pattern in photography utilizes elements that are repeated. Repetition of lines, shapes, tones or color can create interesting images.

7. Movement Explanation

8. The shoes on the tree is my best photo among the last three projects we had. I like this photo because you can see the detail of the shoes from the heel all the way to the top of the shoes. You can see all the left over grass on there and overall it's a nice, clean, and clear picture. This changed me by giving me a sense of how I can achieve taking great pictures related to this one. I can see differently now by looking at a picture and determining if its good or not. For example, I can tell if its clear and if the picture needs more detail.

Multicultural Week

Multicultural week for me has been really fun so far. I love the long lunches and eating the great food. Unfortunately they added this ticket system that takes too much time. The music during lunch is also fun and exciting. I wish multicultural week was every week.

Multicultural Week

Multicultural week is probably the most busy weeks in mission. It is really fun and enjoyable for every student. The food is great and the longer lunch is amazing. I personally love to get the pizza and Chinese food. Also, my teachers take it easy on us for the week which is awesome. It's amazing to see all the different cultural themes and foods they have as well. Multicultural week is a really good experience.

Shutter Speed and Everything After

1. The shutter speed is fast because on the highway cars will be moving at a high speed.
2. Depth because it has objects shown in the foreground and the background.
3. Forms because the trucks are three-dimensional shapes expressing length, width, and depth.
4. Movement because the trucks are driving on the road and your eye makes its way up the road expressing movement.

Favorite Photo

From the gallery "Documenting the Blues in the Mississippi Delta," the first photo is my favorite. I enjoy how music was a really big thing back then. I think it's really interesting the older generation is teaching the younger generation how to play guitar. It makes me happy seeing them enjoying themselves. Overall, this picture has a lot of powerful meaning.

Principles of Design - Emphasis

Emphasis

Emphasis is the part of the design that catches the viewer’s attention. Usually the artist will make one area stand out by contrasting it with other areas. The area could be different in size, color, texture, shape, etc.

Principles of Design - Balance

Balance

Balance is the distribution of the visual weight of objects, colors, texture, and space. If the design was a scale, these elements should be balanced to make a design feel stable. In symmetrical balance, the elements used on one side of the design are similar to those on the other side; in asymmetrical balance, the sides are different but still look balanced. In radial balance, the elements are arranged around a central point and may be similar.

Elements of Art - Texture

Texture

Texture is the surface quality that can be seen and felt. Textures can be rough or smooth, soft or hard. Textures do not always feel the way they look; for example, a drawing of a porcupine may look prickly, but if you touch the drawing, the paper is still smooth.
